Key Takeaways
- Trail beats everything, and A-A-A is the best hand.
- A Sequence beats a Color in standard rules.
- Ties are decided by the highest card.
Rankings from Highest to Lowest
Trail (Trio)
Three of a kind, such as 8-8-8. A-A-A is the highest and 2-2-2 the lowest.
Pure Sequence
Three cards in a row in the same suit, such as 4-5-6 of spades.
Sequence
Three cards in a row in mixed suits, such as 9♣ 10♦ J♥.
Color
Three cards of the same suit that aren't in a row, such as 2-7-J of hearts.
Pair
Two cards of the same rank, such as K-K-4. A higher pair wins. If the pairs match, the third card decides.
High Card
No combination. Compare the highest card, then the next highest, and so on.
Probability of Each Hand
These are standard mathematical probabilities for a 52-card deck, not app statistics:
- Trail: about 0.24%
- Pure Sequence: about 0.22%
- Sequence: about 3.26%
- Color: about 4.96%
- Pair: about 16.94%
- High Card: about 74.39%
Special Sequences
A-K-Q is the highest sequence. In most rules A-2-3 comes second, above K-Q-J. Some tables rank it differently, so check the table rules. For the full game flow, see how to play.
